Chail is one of the most tranquil destinations in Himachal Pradesh, enveloped by dense forests of Buras, Deodar, Chir Pine, Baan, and other majestic trees. These woodlands are home to an array of rare Himalayan flora and fauna, with minimal human habitation. The town’s prominence as a tourist destination dates back to Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala, who, after being exiled from Shimla by the British, sought a new summer retreat. Determined to establish a haven overlooking Shimla, his quest led him to Stay in Chail—a charming town offering picturesque views of the surrounding hills.
In 1891, he built The Chail Palace, a masterpiece of ancient stone masonry and Indo-British architectural design. The palace boasts polished wood parquet floors, separate chambers for the king, queen, and mistresses, and a serene garden perfect for leisurely walks. Enjoying a cup of tea here amid the breeze and sunshine is a delightful experience.
Another highlight of Chail is the Siddha Baba Mandir, constructed on the site revealed to the Maharaja in a dream by a Siddha Baba. Kali ka tibba

WORLD HIGHEST CRICKET GROUND
Our Himachal Pradesh resorts is nearby of the cricket ground in Chail was built in 1893 by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala, who made Chail his summer capital after being banned from Shimla, the summer capital at the time. The ground was created by leveling the top of a hill and is located at an altitude of 2,444 meters, making it the highest cricket ground in the world.
Surrounded by dense forests, the ground is situated on a hilltop. After India became independent, the Maharaja donated the ground and other buildings to the Chail Military School and the Government of India. During school vacations, the ground is used for polo. It also has a well-maintained basketball court, and sometimes football is played there, as goalposts are set up on the field.


Stoned Kumbh Shiv Temple
